It made me really sad recently when I read that another blogger's recent post, I used to really respect her but now I am finding it really hard to do so... there are a lot of people who deny what is happening in Bahrain, even Westerners. People who believe that people aren't dying and that the protesters are just tiny groups and don't represent the majority of society.

Bahrain is a tiny, tiny island. I can't stress that enough, you could drive from one side to the other in like 30 minutes before the foreign population boomed and traffic increased.  So when you see mass protests from Bahrainis, then you cannot deny that a significant amount of the actual Bahraini people are protesting not only the government itself but also their assistance from "dar al Jazeera", the force that entered from Saudi Arabia and imposed "emergency law" because people were brave enough to walk on the streets and be honest about their feelings and the human rights abuses that were always practiced by the Al khalifas.

And Iran has NOTHING to do with it by the way!!! Don't brand us as being lovers of Iran just because we are Shi'a, Bahrainis are Bahrainis and don't hold the flag up in protests for nothing.

But people are still in denial. That's a fact of life, some can't see anything even if it's right in front of their faces. Here are a few videos and photos of some of the thing that have been happening and I hope that even one person reading this will change their opinion because we cannot accept BABIES dying and young boys being killed with live and rubber bullets for NOTHING but the Al Khalifa's greed!

I challenge anyone who believes the protesters are liars to go first hand and see the conditions in Karrana, Sitra, Sanabis, even the poorer areas of Juffair. Babies are dying because of inhaling tear gas, old men are being beaten up and killed - just last night the head of human rights group in Bahrain, Nabeel Rajab, was beaten up by govt thugs (should I mention they're all mercenaries too????). There is no justice and it is NOT safe in Bahrain for the people who actually care about the future of Bahrain.

And here is evidence that it is still continuing!
These are all within the last 2 months

This was uploaded yesterday, Nabeel Rajab is speaking in the front and just watch what the beautiful and peaceful mercenaries do in the end astaghfirAllah!!!!

I didn't realize the Bahrainis were still protesting. Good for them! I was disgusted with how their leaders treated them last year and how the KSA troops came over there to keep them under control. So sad! Thanks for this update!

It baffles me how some people can just deny the Truth when it is in their face - so plain and real. But sometimes, Allah seals our hearts and eyes and ears because we have brought ourselves to that position.

-sigh-

I didn't know things were happening in Bahrain either..I wonder why the Western media has hidden that and focused moreso on the Syrian situation. Probably because the thinking is that the Bahrainis protesting are linked to Iran, and the US would turn a blind eye to whatever happens to them as they would not want an Iranian-backed government in Bahrain. I don't know much about Bahrain...Is it a majority Shia country? Is the current government sharing good relations with the US?

DD the US has a lot riding on Bahrain staying the way it is due to its strategic importance (in my opinion, anyway). It is indeed a majority Shi'a country, although in the past 6 - 7 years or so the govt has begun naturalising foreigners (Sunni) to change the internal dynamics of the country. It is still a majority Shi'a right now though. The current govt has good relations w/ the US, the 5th fleet is mostly stationed there and there is a massive base there too. But the protestors aren't really looking at the bigger picture - an activist was saying on a show recently that they don't care about the US bases or the like, their concern is with the government of Bahrain. It is definitely very sad that the US heaps bad publicity on Syria and yet sells weapons to Bahrain, even now.
